Please note that the Dorothy Molter Museum will be closed on Tuesday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
Historically, our little museum has not been able to compete against the many community events happening in and around the Ely Area on the Fourth of July.
Several years ago, the Museum decided to be closed on this holiday to not only because there were few, if any, visitors coming to tour, but also allow our dedicated staff a well-deserved day off to enjoy all of the wonderful celebrations with their family and friends.
Our seasonal staff typically work all the major “summer holidays” and on this one day, we’ve realized that it doesn’t make sense to be open when most people – residents and visitors – are taking advantage of a beautiful summer day with their own family, friends and community.
Please take care during your celebrations and stop in July 5!
