2023 FUNdraising Events

Join us in a variety of ways during the Ely Winter Festival for our annual fundraising events.

Online Silent Auction – Feb 1-9
Participate from anywhere – as long as you can pick up your winning bids, access is open to all! Our online silent auction will be open for bidding until 6:30pm on Thursday, Feb 9. This means that if you attend our in-person dinner, you’ll be able to take home any winning bids you achieve.

Annual Fundraising Dinner – Thursday, February 9 at 5pm
It’s the Museum’s annual “plaid tie” event! We’ll be celebrating 30 years of mission-driven Northwoods education through the lens of Dorothy’s life so you won’t want to miss this event at the Grand Ely Lodge. Raffles, silent auction, door prizes, canoe raffle drawing, dinner and program – not to mention FUN! Plaid clothing encouraged! Prizes for best plaid and most creative plaid.

Whirlwind! – Saturday, Feb 4, 11am-2pm
It’s our annual winter celebration in collaboration with Minnesota North College – Vermilion Campus. Join us for this outdoor, winter extravaganza where college students will offer interpretive stations highlighting aspects of “winter in the Northwoods” including ice harvesting, snowshoeing and snow shelters. This event is FREE and includes access into Dorothy’s historic cabins. Pre-registration is not required, stop in anytime between 11am-2pm!
Dress for the weather/temps, we’ll have a warming fire and hot beverages.
