It was a great season!

Dinner Buff Plaid circleThank you so very much for a fantastic 2018 summer season at the Dorothy Molter Museum!

We welcomed over 6,000 visitors this summer – a new record!

Visitors helped us celebrate our 25th season in our red pine grove with an anniversary celebration in June, the new Cady Cabin exhibit Creating the Boundary Waters: 25 Objects, 25 Stories and our fresh take on brewing root beer yourself classes. We could not have had this success without our dedicated staff, board, volunteers, membership family and visitors – THANK YOU!

Stay tuned for the canoe raffle winner!

We are already planning for this winter’s events during the Ely Winter Festival, including our annual FUNdraising dinner (the plaid tie event) and Whirlwind! with VCC students, as well as much-needed maintenance around the museum itself.

Foundation block leveling and new roofs are on the horizon for both the Winter and Point Cabins. We are developing a capital campaign but are fundraising already. Please mark your calendars for Give to the Max Day on November 15 where Minnesota spends 24 hours raising much-needed funds for non-profits across the state! Dollars are matched, big prizes are drawn ($10,000!!!) and it all supports important non-profit work in Minnesota. More information available soon!
