Who Was Dorothy?

Dorothy Molter was the last non-indigenous resident of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW). After her passing in 1986, her homestead was dismantled in 1987 and transported by dogsled and snowmobile to Moose Lake, and then on to Ely where volunteers restored two of her cabins at the current site of the Dorothy Molter [...]

The Dorothy Molter Museum quarterly newsletter is a Membership benefit that is printed and mailed to Members in good standing at the time of print. If you would like to receive these newsletters when current, Membership levels start at the Student Level for $10 a year! Winter '17 Issue
