Attend the staged reading at Vermilion Community College’s Fine Arts Theater on Saturday, November 26 at 7:00pm or Sunday, November 27 at 2:00pm – or both!
Barb Cary Hall, daughter of Bob Cary and long-time museum board member, has penned an original musical production based on the famous Bob Cary book The Root Beer Lady. Many people’s first introduction to the story of Dorothy Molter was through Bob Cary’s book and very soon, Dorothy’s story may reach a new audience through musical performance. The Dorothy Molter Museum has been active in assisting Barb through her endeavor and are pleased that there will be another vehicle with which to move Dorothy’s story toward new audiences.
Although the staged reading of the musical is currently in production, Barb is still seeking funding to support the massive effort of preparing for the future full productions of this musical. This free staged reading (kind of a mini-dress rehearsal of sorts) is open to the public as the production team is interested in community input about the performance.
